Accounting Administrator

North York, Ontario

$45,000 yr salary

 

Responsibilities

  • Perform day to day to day accounting transactions including AR and AP
  • Verify transaction information; schedule and prepare disbursements; obtain authorization of payment.
  • Resolve account discrepancies by investigating documentation
  • Verify accounts by reconciling statements and transactions.
  • Maintain current and historical files including project related documents and correspondence
  • Ensure cost are applied to the proper Job projects
  • Review and process expenses report to ensure the tax application is correct; and the costs are entered to the proper categories
  • Communicate directly with vendors to resolve payment, invoice discrepancies and other queries, including negotiating payment terms
  • Assist in month-end activities such as accrual entries and cost analysis
  • Assist with internal credit card and bank reconciliations when required
  • Organize invoices and file supporting documents timely and accurately
  • Perform other duties as needed by management

Qualifications

  • University Degree/College Diploma in Finance or Accounting
  • 3 years of hands-on experience with spreadsheets and accounting software; QuickBooks
  • Capable of performing accurate data entry with keen attention to detail
  • Have a good understanding of Microsoft Office, in particular Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Strong organization skills and time management skills is necessary
  • Strong problem solving abilities

Construction industry experience preferred, but not mandatory
