Position: Extruder Operator Helper
Location: Aurora, On
Shift: Continental Rotations – 7:00 to 7:00 on two week rotation; training will be 7:00am-3:00pm
Salary: $20.82/hour, plus premiums for nights and weekends
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Extruder Operator with machine setup, adjustments, and operation.
- Perform regular quality checks to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Load and unload materials to/from the machine.
- Interpret and follow production orders accurately.
- Complete the required documentation and paperwork.
- Utilize computer systems for data entry and related tasks.
- Demonstrate mechanical ability to operate machinery effectively.
- Adjust equipment as necessary to maintain proper functionality.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors.
- Adhere to company-wide and department-specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), including:
- Employee Health and Safety guidelines
- Safe Quality Food (SQF) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) for contamination prevention
- Sustainable Green Printer (SGP) environmental procedures
- Meet productivity standards and complete tasks in a timely manner.
- Participate in special projects and other duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- Experience operating machinery with basic mechanical skills.
- Ability to read a tape measure and basic math proficiency.
- Competency in using computers (data entry, basic software).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate clearly with team members and supervisors.
- Legible handwriting and basic reading and writing skills.
- Familiarity with using minor tools (e.g., Allen wrenches) and sharp cutting tools.
- Ability to process written materials (e.g., production orders, SOPs).

Physical Demands:
- Frequently lift and carry up to 50 lbs; occasionally lift up to 70 lbs.
- Stand for extended periods (70-80% of the time).
- Bend, twist, and reach intermittently (60-70% of the time).
- Push/pull up to 100 lbs (20-30% of the time).
- Extensive use of hands and fingers for various tasks.
- Must be comfortable working on concrete floors and using step ladders as needed.
Working Conditions:
- Work 12-hour shifts with the possibility of consecutive shifts (up to 11 days).
- Work in a non-air-conditioned environment with varying temperatures (hot in summer, cool in winter).
- Availability for overtime, especially for vacation coverage.
- Follow all safety regulations, including wearing necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) such as:
- Steel-toe boots or shoes
- Hearing protection
- Safety glasses
- Cut-resistant gloves
- Hairnets and beard nets

- Ability to maintain pace with the machine and meet production targets.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to production changes.
- Strong prioritization and multi-tasking skills.
- Must be a dependable team player focused on achieving production goals.
