Position: Slitter Operator
Location: Innisfil, ON
Salary: $20.00 – $26.00 per hour
Job Overview:
As a Slitter Operator, you will be responsible for operating slitting equipment, ensuring product quality, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. Your attention to detail and ability to work collaboratively will help you meet production targets and uphold safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review job dockets to gather necessary information and adjust machine settings to meet specific requirements.
- Enter accurate job data, ensuring the correct roll sizes and coordinating with the Extrusion and Slitting Manager for slit size and “slit” passes.
- Prepare and cut cores for the next shift’s production materials.
- Provide product samples with each job for future reference.
- Perform “Hammer Testing” on finished products to ensure order accuracy.
- Assemble skids based on customer specifications.
- Conduct regular quality inspections to ensure the integrity of the film and finished products.
- Protect the health and safety of yourself and colleagues by performing routine safety checks on equipment and creating work orders for equipment repairs when needed.
- Collaborate with team members to address shift challenges and exceed daily production goals.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Previous experience working with slitting machinery or similar equipment is an asset.
- Ability to adapt to changing work environments, solve problems independently, and work with minimal supervision.
