Job Opportunity: Printing Press Operator
Location: Barrie, ON
Salary: $26 – $28/hour
Shift: Continental Rotating Shifts
Overview:
Avery HR is seeking a skilled Printing Press Operator to join a dynamic team for a full-time opportunity in Barrie, Ontario. If you have a passion for precision and team leadership, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
- Review daily schedules and production dockets to ensure the right materials and press settings are prepared for efficient output.
- Confirm all required supplies are available and perform quality control checks throughout the process, assisting Printing Press Assistants when necessary.
- Input production data into the press system and ensure accurate color measures are followed.
- Verify that printed materials align with docket specifications, customer requirements, and artwork.
- Lead and manage a team of Printing Press Assistants, ensuring smooth workflow.
- Prepare for upcoming jobs, ensuring all materials and setups are ready.
- Perform cleaning tasks on blades, pans, floors, and the press, along with light maintenance duties.
- Regularly update or create process control reports, ensuring that information is accurate for current and future orders.
- Set up and fine-tune machines according to process control specifications.
- Assist with machine setup, ensuring correct configurations.
- Troubleshoot and identify minor maintenance issues, creating work orders or handling repairs as necessary.
- Perform safety circle checks, ensure equipment is in good condition, and maintain cleanliness in work areas.
- Other duties as assigned by the Printing and Lamination Supervisor or Manager.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
- Previous experience in flexographic printing or similar machinery is an asset.
- Strong understanding of color vision and theory; familiarity with color management would be beneficial.
- Ability to problem-solve, adapt to changing environments, and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong integrity, accountability, and excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Positive, team-oriented attitude with a strong willingness to learn and grow.
