Position: Project Engineer
Location: Barrie, ON
Salary: $70,000 – $85,000 (Negotiable based on experience) + Benefits
Overview:
We are looking for a Project Engineer to join our dynamic team, working closely with the President and Senior Project Engineer. In this role, you will provide engineering support across the design, selection, and supervision of various company projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to contribute to meaningful projects, while also growing within the company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with senior leadership to provide engineering expertise in the design, selection, and supervision of projects.
- Design, select, and price vertical turbine and submersible pumps for a variety of applications.
- Prepare and submit quotes and tenders for municipal well and pump supply, maintenance, and well rehabilitation programs.
- Oversee the design, management, and execution of pump maintenance and well rehabilitation projects.
- Maintain strong client relationships and manage project schedules and site-specific requirements.
- Support the management of shop operations and ensure projects are executed smoothly.
- Supervise and mentor junior staff and field crews when required.
- Prepare project reports and draft invoices.
- Perform general office administration tasks as needed.
- Participate in field assignments and hands-on projects on job sites.
- Grow within the company and take on new responsibilities as your role evolves.
- Attend conferences and trade shows as opportunities arise.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Registered Professional Engineer in Ontario (Civil and/or Mechanical disciplines preferred). Experience with rotating equipment is a plus.
- 7-10 years of project management experience is preferred.
- Proactive, problem-solving mindset with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong ability to identify areas for process improvement and efficiency gains.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience in municipal well supply or water pumping station infrastructure is an asset, though training will be provided for the right candidate.
- Ability and willingness to travel to client sites within Ontario, as needed.
- Proficiency in standard office software.
