Job Position:     Rear Load Driver

Location:            Chilliwack, BC

Pay:                       $30.00 per hour

Shift:                     Day time hours

Summary
We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Rear Load Driver to join our team. This role involves operating waste collection trucks to collect refuse efficiently and safely from designated routes. This is a short-term role for a period of two months.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate rear load garbage trucks along assigned routes, adhering to all traffic and safety regulations
• Collect, load, and secure waste materials from residential or commercial properties using proper lifting techniques
• Perform routine inspections of the vehicle before and after shifts to ensure operational safety and cleanliness
• Maintain accurate records of pickups, route completion times, and any issues encountered during the shift
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and team members regarding route progress or any operational concerns
• Assist with vehicle maintenance tasks as needed, including basic troubleshooting or reporting mechanical issues
• Follow all safety protocols to prevent accidents or injuries during collection activities

Requirements:

• Minimum five years experience operating heavy-duty vehicles or commercial trucks
• Valid Class 3 driver’s license with a clean driving record is essential
• Experience with heavy lifting and physical labor is advantageous
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift heavy loads safely
• Strong attention to safety procedures and detail-oriented approach to daily tasks
• Clear criminal background check
