Construction Project Manager (ICI)
St. John, NB
90-120K salary with benefits, RRSP and room for advancement
Responsibilities
- Manage construction projects from pre-construction through completion, working closely with the Superintendent on design coordination, project planning, budgets, schedules and overall project execution.
- Develop tender documents, coordinate bid processes and prepare subcontract agreements with trade partners.
- Prepare accurate and timely progress billings for Owners and oversee the review and processing of subcontractor invoices to support timely payments.
- Establish and maintain professional relationships with Owners, Architects, consultants, subcontractors and other project stakeholders, communicating project requirements, concerns and company interests effectively.
- Review project financials, analyze cost reports and provide ongoing forecasts to ensure project performance remains aligned with the original estimate and supports healthy cash flow.
- Chair and participate in regular project meetings, coordinating internal and external teams while monitoring project progress, deliverables and performance.
- Provide guidance, direction and support to project team members, delegating responsibilities and helping maintain efficient project operations.
- Prepare regular project status reports for the Area Manager, highlighting progress, financial performance, schedule updates and potential risks requiring management attention.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related construction discipline, combined with a minimum of five years of construction experience; equivalent technical training and industry experience will also be considered.
- Proven experience managing Institutional or Commercial construction projects in a Project Manager capacity.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, trade scopes, project scheduling, contract administration and project management software.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor and delegate within a large project team while maintaining accountability and strong working relationships.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with Owners, Architects, consultants, trades and internal management.
- Strong financial and organizational skills, including experience with project budgets, cost forecasting, billing and cash-flow management.
