As a CNC Operator, you’ll be responsible for setting up, operating, and optimizing multi-axis machining and milling equipment to produce precision components from a range of materials. You’ll work hands-on with advanced CNC machines such as Matsuura, DMG Mori, NHX, Hermle, Kia, Hitachi, Mikron, and others.
You’ll also perform lathe and mill-turn operations on equipment including MAZAK Integrex, MAZAK HQR, NLX, Samsung, and Vertical Lathes.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate multiple CNC machine tools in both automated and manual setups.
- Review and implement changes to machining methods, programs, and tooling as required.
- Monitor and optimize setup and cycle times for maximum efficiency.
- Perform daily preventive maintenance, keeping machines clean and production-ready.
- Inspect and verify all materials, tools, and programs prior to operation.
- Maintain proper identification of jobs, parts, and materials at the workstation.
- Clean, deburr, and prepare parts for subsequent operations or inspections.
- Validate and qualify finished components to ensure they meet all customer and company specifications, including full documentation compliance.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in a technical or manufacturing discipline (asset).
- Proficiency with CNC controls, machining operations, and tooling setup.
- Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM software and post-processor machine code.
- Ability to interpret detailed engineering and manufacturing drawings.
- Skilled in the use of precision measuring instruments and gauges.
- Comfortable with computer-based technologies and documentation systems.
