Purchasing Clerk
Tottenham, Ontario
70-75K Salary with Benefits and room for advancement
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day purchasing and supply chain activities to support production needs
- Source, evaluate, and maintain relationships with suppliers
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms with vendors
- Forecast material requirements and maintain appropriate inventory levels
- Issue purchase orders and track delivery status
- Monitor supplier performance for cost, quality, and reliability
- Maintain purchasing and inventory records in internal systems
- Coordinate with production and other departments to resolve material issues
- Develop and follow purchasing and inventory control procedures
- Address shortages, delays, and supply disruptions as they arise
- Participate in planning meetings and continuous improvement activities
- Perform other related duties as required
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in purchasing or supply chain roles
- Experience with ERP or inventory management systems
- Strong analytical and forecasting skills
- Effective negotiation and vendor management abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Word)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Solid organizational and time management skills
- Basic math and cost analysis capabilities
- Supply chain or related certification/education considered an asset
