CNC Machine Operator – Afternoon & Night Shifts

Pay rate: from$25.00 per hour, based on experience
Hours: Afternoon shift – 2:00pm to 10:30pm ($1.00/hr. shift premium)
Night Shift – 10:00pm to 6:30am ($1.50/hr. shift premium)
Summary:
Avery HR is looking for skilled CNC Machine Operators who will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC equipment, such as Lathe and Milling machines. This position requires the ability to read and interpret blueprints, modify CNC programs to achieve necessary tolerances, and guarantee the precision and quality of machined components.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and run CNC machinery, including Lathe and Milling machines, for production purposes.
- Interpret and analyze drawings to ensure that machine tolerances on parts are maintained.
- Adjust and modify CNC machining programs and offsets to align with drawing specifications.
- Utilize various precision measuring tools to perform First-off and in-process inspections.
- Change tools and inserts as necessary based on the results of in-process inspections.
- Assemble subassemblies using both hand tools and power tools.
- Operate manual machines as needed.
- Package machined parts and apply the correct identification for shipping.
- Adhere to standard work practices, method sheets, and instructions.
- Maintain cleanliness and comply with Lean Manufacturing principles and FEM requirements.
- Report any equipment or tool malfunctions or damages to the supervisor.
- Carry out additional production-related tasks as instructed by the supervisor.
Education and Skill Requirements:
- Proficiency in reading and understanding blueprint drawings is essential.
- At least 10 years of CNC experience (Lathe and Milling machines).
- Ability to follow engineering instructions.
- Ability to use various measuring instruments and hand/power tools.
- Crane training is an asset.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Steel toed-safety boots, preferably with the metatarsal guard, are mandatory. Candidates must pass a criminal background check.
