Semi Automatic Side Load Garbage Truck Driver – Class 3

Key Responsibilities

• Operate an Automatic Side Load (ASL) residential garbage truck on assigned collection routes
• Collect, transport, and dispose of residential waste safely and efficiently following municipal and company guidelines
• Complete daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicles are safe and road-ready
• Follow traffic laws, health and safety procedures, and company policies at all times
• Report route delays, service concerns, vehicle issues, or equipment malfunctions to dispatch or management
• Represent the company professionally while interacting with residents and the public
• Maintain accurate route sheets, inspection records, and required documentation
• Ensure safe operation of equipment and maintain cleanliness of the vehicle as needed

Qualifications

• Valid Class 3 Driver’s License with Air Brake Endorsement required
• Clean driver’s abstract with a safe driving record
• Minimum 2 years of commercial driving experience; waste management or heavy truck experience considered an asset
• Comfortable working independently and following scheduled routes with minimal supervision
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Physically capable of repetitive truck entry/exit and occasional lifting when required
• Reliable, safety-conscious, and able to work in various weather conditions
