Job position: Industrial Sewing Machine Operator/Technician

Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour

Location: Burlington, ON

Hours: 7:30am to 4:00pm, Monday to Friday

Our client in Burlington, ON requires an Industrial Sewing Machine Operator/Technician for their tarpaulin manufacturing facility.

Duties include:

Manufacture and assemble tarp products from start to finish, including packaging when required.
Sew, heat weld, install grommets, and rope tarps as needed.
Read work orders, select correct materials, and cut materials to the required size.
Complete mobile tarp repairs and customer drive-through tarp repairs.
Create graphic masks for tarps when required.
Complete tarp production tasks within set timelines.
Communicate order details and job requirements clearly with team members.
Help organize work priorities and support other tarp shop team members as needed.
Troubleshoot and resolve tarp production or repair issues to avoid delays.
Follow all health and safety rules and wear required PPE.
Ensure all work is completed correctly and meets quality standards.
Assist with inventory checks and report material shortages to purchasing or production teams.
Perform quality checks to ensure completed work matches customer requirements.
Report any problems, delays, or concerns to the supervisor.
Complete other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Minimum of 4 years experience in the tarpaulin or industrial fabric manufacturing industry.
High school diploma mandatory.
Excellent English communication skills.
Able to learn and follow directions.
Organized and detail oriented; able to prioritize.
Physically fit, able to lift 50 lbs. and sit, stand, bend and stretch.
Candidate should have good manual dexterity.
Must be reliable and able to work overtime when required.
Team player who can also work independently.
Must be able to work while standing on a ladder.
Must be able to read a tape measure.
