Job position: DZ Driver
Location: North York, ON (Caledonia & Lawrence)
Hours: 7:00am to 4:00pm, Monday to Friday; may be extended to meet operational needs
Pay: $26.00 to 27.00 per hour
Overview
We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious DZ Driver to join our client in North York. In this role, you will safely transport and deliver materials on time, provide excellent customer service, and comply with all transportation regulations. Candidates must be able to operate a 10-speed manual transmission truck.
Duties
- Operate company vehicles safely and follow all traffic laws and company policies.
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any issues.
- Safely transport and deliver tile and slab materials on time and without damage.
- Complete delivery records, inspection reports, and other required paperwork accurately.
- Communicate with dispatch and management about schedules, delays, or route changes.
- Provide friendly and professional customer service.
- Follow all health and safety procedures, including wearing required PPE.
- Help with loading, unloading, and handling materials as needed.
Qualifications:
- Valid Ontario DZ Driver’s Licence with a clean driver’s abstract.
- Must be able to operate a 10-speed manual transmission truck.
- 2–5 years of commercial driving experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent is an asset.
- Knowledge of Ontario traffic laws, commercial driving regulations, and safe driving practices.
- Experience completing vehicle inspections, driver logs, and required documentation.
- Knowledge of load securement and safe material handling.
- Basic mechanical skills to identify and report vehicle issues.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to read delivery manifests, invoices, and route instructions.
- Reliable, organized, and able to work independently while meeting delivery schedules.
